Combatting malnutrition

With the aim to combat malnutrition, the SP Group piloted their Nutrition Positive Program in the year 2017-18 in Palghar district, Maharashtra and at slums in Govandi, Mumbai.

Since then, the program has reached 6,400 children and 700 pregnant and lactating mothers.

With the aim to create a long-lasting and sustained change, the Nutrition Positive program includes building capacity among the government health resources like Anganwadi workers and creating awareness of healthy food choices among the community.

Major components of the program focus on improving health parameters by providing daily nutritious food supplements to children in the age group of 6 months to 6 years. Their health is periodically monitored on standard health parameters. Pregnant women and lactating mothers of the community also form part of the program intervention.
